The Prepared Traveller

I promise you, I was completely serious when I began filming. Completely.

I’m not sure what came over me, but by the look on the first traveller’s face when we made it to the five minute mark, along with the “Oh My God Mum, you didn’t?” I may have just embarrassed myself.

When I mentioned I’d forgotten to put lippy on, the fourth little traveller giggled and said “I’m not sure that’s what people will be looking at.” Which is good, because you might not also notice that my shirt makes me look about 10 months pregnant!

Anyway, I figure if you follow my advice, we’ll all be able to recognize each other at the airport 😉

  1. Hahaha Excellent vlog!

  2. Kirsty, you are hilarious! I had been studying all afternoon and watched your vlog for a break! I loved the bathers at the end – a very prepared traveller 🙂 would love to see you in the airport! Gives an all new meaning to layering!

  3. Excellent! x

  4. Bravo!! Wanted to see little travellers cracking up tho!! Denyse…. PS I used noise cancelling (cancelling a THAT’S The word) headphones on my one & only OS flight & loved them. However, they were before the days of cordless & I’d get up to go to the loo & forget & trip over cord & person next to me. Loved “hearing” you too!!

  5. I love your work. My kids are pissing themselves laughing. And so am I. xx

  6. Terrific advice, Kirstie – I would love to see the second instalment that shows us how you negotiate the removal of your bathers and extra knickers in the economy class cabin loos! 🙂

  7. oh Kirsty just the vision you have left as we are preparing our luggage for our trip to Vietnam – the mind boggles with what securtiy will say if we all travelled with our essentials on!

  8. Hahaha, that was a great VLOG!

Reminds me of some the (stingy) Europeans who fly with budget airlines and get around having to pay for their baggage by just wearing all their clothes on top of each other.

ps. Thought of one teensy weensy problem… going to the loo on the plane while wearing bathers…

  9. Lol!!! Loved it! I have a friend who had extra large pockets sewn onto the inside of her long jacket. The amount of things that can be stuffed into those pockets!

  10. Gold!! Love it 🙂

  11. That was hilarious!

I always thought the more I’d travel the more I’d pare down my travel bag to the bare necessities, and the strange thing is, the opposite has happened…and we end up with more stuff to hand carry on board!

  12. Awesome Kirsty!!!! Love it – and the shirt 🙂

  13. Great advice! (So nice meeting you today. I felt a bit like a fan meeting a celeb 🙂 )

  14. Hehe, lol. I love you even more after seeing and hearing you! X

  15. Oh lord, such excellent advice. I never forget my cossies (NSW here!!) on an OS flight (we always do the stopover with the hotel pool thing) but if I was wearing them on the outside it would be even better!! You break me up! Thank you!
